The 3 PM concert features Whitacre's Five Hebrew Love Songs, Christiansen's O Day Full of Grace, and Craig Hella Johnson's Requiem.

Collaboration!

From Age To Age, pictured here, will be joined by Kantorei for an intimate concert entitled "Preparation of the Soul".  Click here for all of the details about this concert for Saturday, March 19.

It's great to have these two choirs together - both bring expressive singing styles that are free and natural, yet always in tune and richly blended.

"...an intimately woven selection of music accompanied by candlelight, the program Preparation of the Soul will transport the conscious to a place in which time seems to stop and the fullness of life comes to the foreground. The evening will feature Gregorian chant, and works by Eric Barnum, René Clausen, Duruflé, Palestrina, Josquin, Rachmaninoff, Bruckner, Kenneth Jennings, and more."

National ACDA Conference in Chicago

The American Choral Directors Association will hold its national conference in Chicago from March 9-12.  For more information about the conference, including concerts, interest sessions and the program schedule, click here.

I wish I could attend but unfortuantely I have previous conflicts on my calendar, but I know it will be a great gathering of the international choral community.

Minnesota has several choirs performing, including Bella Voce, University of St. Thomas Chamber Singers, Cantorei (St. Olaf College), "The Singers" - Minnesota Choral Artists.

And the Minnesota ACDA has received several awards by the National ACDA:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

'Tis the Season!

It was about a year ago when I was trying to find Christmas concerts to put on my calendar.

After looking at dozens of choir websites and choral postings, I decided to build an online Choral Calendar where I could find choral concerts via a single source.

So today I am happy to see all of the seasonal concerts on the Choral Calendar!

2010 HOLIDAY CONCERTS CLICK HERE

With Thanksgiving next week, I also want to share my gratitude for all of the choirs using ChoralExpress, especially the many choirs here in Minnesota.

As ChoralExpress moves into its second year, it is my hope to have more and more communities across the nation use ChoralExpress as their primary source for finding choral concerts.  I am grateful for all the new choirs joining ChoralExpress from week to week.  Recently, choirs from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Virginia all joined the site.

I am also grateful for the many people who have subscribed to the ChoralExpress eNewsletters!  I hope to see more and more people from across the country subscribing to the eNewsletters - it's a great way to get a quick update on upcoming concerts!

Wishing you all a blessed Holiday Season!
